Registration and Insurance of Your Moped in Denmark

At Knallert Market, we only sell 30 mopeds (mopeds with an approved maximum speed of 30 km/h). All mopeds are models from before 2006 and can be insured without any issues in Denmark.

Registration
The mopeds sold at Knallert Market do not need to be registered with a license plate or white plate. This is because all our mopeds fall under the 30 moped regulations and are models from before 2006. In the Netherlands, these mopeds had a blue license plate, which allowed them to ride up to 25 km/h (though in practice, they often ride around 30 km/h).

Thanks to this combination of 30 moped classification and pre-2006 production, these mopeds can be used legally on Danish roads as long as they are insured.

Insurance
The moped can easily be insured using the frame number – even if it comes from the Netherlands. The frame number is used to register the moped with the insurance company, allowing you to use it legally on the road in Denmark.

Mopeds that go faster
All mopeds we sell are officially classified as 30 mopeds. In some cases, they have been tuned and can go faster than 30 km/h. This is always clearly mentioned in the listing. It is the customer’s responsibility to decide whether to use the moped in that condition. Knallert Market is not liable for the use of tuned mopeds.
