My story

KnallertMarket was born out of a pure passion for classic mopeds. What started as a hobby in a small workshop has grown into a professional business that supplies hundreds of mopeds every year to happy customers all over Denmark. But behind every success story, there's a person – so who is KnallertMarket?

My name is Daan de Leeuw, I'm 25 years old and come from the small town of Lopik, in the Netherlands. Ever since I was thirteen, I’ve been obsessed with mopeds. While other teenagers were gaming, I was in the garage, working on my first Puch Maxi.

What began with fixing up and selling one or two mopeds quickly grew into something bigger. At one point, I didn’t just have ten, but twenty mopeds in stock. And today, I sell hundreds every year. Each moped is carefully selected, checked, and prepared for a new life on Danish roads.

At the age of eighteen, I began exporting mopeds to Denmark. In the beginning, they went through intermediaries and were sold mainly on platforms like Facebook Marketplace and DBA. So there's a good chance you know someone riding a Tomos, Puch, or Vespa Ciao from the Netherlands — which originally came from me.

In the fall of 2024, I had the idea: why not sell directly to the customer? No middlemen, no extra steps — just straight from me to you. That’s when the concept of KnallertMarket was born: a webshop where Danish moped enthusiasts can easily buy a trustworthy, classic Dutch moped — at a fair price.

From the Netherlands, I personally make a careful selection: only mopeds of the highest quality are purchased and prepared for sale through KnallertMarket. Each one is technically inspected.
